The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency is charged by state statute to reduce the vulnerabilities of the people and communities of Nebraska from the damage, injury and loss of life and property resulting from natural, technological, or man-made disasters and emergencies.

Response and Recovery

The Response and Recovery division is comprised of a mixed group of personnel dedicated to carrying out and coordinating all disaster assistance components. These include, but are not limited to, hazard mitigation, public assistance, Governor's Emergency Fund, State Emergency Response Commission and the Governor's Homeland Security Policy Group.

This division, headed by Earl Imler, is tasked with monitoring the State of Nebraska for incidents that present a severe enough danger to constitute a disaster or emergency on either the state and/or federal level. This section provides a state level system of coordinating emergency response activities.
