State Hazard Mitigation Plan

The purpose of the Nebraska State Hazard Mitigation Plan is to provide a comprehensive set of guidelines for hazard response in the state. This plan identifies potential risks with appropriate mitigation responses to significantly reduce loss of life, injuries, economic costs and destruction of natural and cultural resources. Having received FEMA approval and formal adoption, this mitigation plan is now posted on NEMA’s website for easy access by the public and local emergency response agencies. The Nebraska State Hazard Mitigation plan is a living document, and will be rewritten by state officials every three years.
